One big plus: parking is located right in the building—a rarity in LA! If you know LA, you’ll understand how challenging finding parking can be.
Walking into the shop, I was greeted by an adorable photo zone, a sink area to freshen up, and an impressive display of makeup categorized by seasonal tones—spring, summer, fall, and winter.
The Experience ☺︎
The session began with Claire, who explained what personal color is, the different types, and their benefits. She even shared examples of celebrities and how their tones influence their style, including the best and worst combinations. The detailed insights were fascinating and eye-opening!
Intro to Personal Color ☺︎
Before starting the diagnosis, Claire asked me what tone I aimed for and what I thought suited me. I assumed I had a cool tone because of my naturally dark black hair, but I shared that I personally love warm autumn hues.
I removed my makeup using the skincare products Claire recommended. All of them had a low pH level, making them gentle and suitable for any skin type. She thoroughly explained the importance of using a double cleanser and recommended perfect serums and creams for my skin. I loved having the opportunity to try out different types of skincare products.
Then using a device to measure my skin tone, Claire meticulously assessed my undertones, warmth, and saturation levels. However, the analysis didn’t stop with just the device. Using an array of color drapes, she carefully identified my perfect tone, explaining each step in detail as she went along.
I didn’t expect much initially, but the results blew my mind! Watching my face shift dramatically based on different palettes was astonishing. Some colors made my complexion appear dull and shadowed, while others brightened and sharpened my features. I could clearly see how saturation and brightness influenced how I looked. The process was incredibly thorough, incorporating a color palette to distinguish between warm and cool tones and variations in saturation and brightness.

일단 가장 좋았던 점은 빌딩 내에 주차장이 있다는 것이었어요. LA에서는 주차 자리를 찾는 게 정말 하늘의 별 따기잖아요! 발렛이라도 있으면 너무 땡큐인데 심지어 무료였어요 🙂
샵에 들어서면 귀여운 포토존이 먼저 눈에 띄었고, 얼굴을 세수할 수 있는 세면 공간과 함께 봄, 여름, 가을, 겨울 톤별로 모아둔 화장품 조합이 진열되어 있었습니다.
과정 ☺︎
저의 진단은 클레어 원장님과 함께 시작되었어요. 클레어 원장님은 퍼스널 컬러의 개념, 종류, 장점 등을 먼저 설명해주셨고, 유명인들의 톤 예시를 들어 어떤 조합이 최고의 결과를 내고, 어떤 조합이 피해야 할 조합인지 아주 자세히 알려주셨습니다.
진단을 시작하기 전에, 클레어 원장님께서 제가 어떤 톤을 목표로 하고 있는지, 그리고 어떤 톤이 저에게 어울릴 것 같다고 생각하는지 물어보셨어요. 저는 자연 머리색이 짙은 검은색이라 쿨톤일 거라고 생각했지만, 개인적으로는 따뜻한 가을 톤 계열의 색상을 좋아한다고 말씀드렸습니다.
진단에 앞서, 제가 어떤 톤을 추구하고 어떤 톤이 자신에게 어울릴 거라고 생각하는지 물어보셨어요. 저는 자연 머리색이 짙은 검은색이라서 쿨톤이라고 알고 있지만, 개인적으로는 웜톤 중에서도 가을 톤 계열의 색을 좋아한다고 대답했습니다.
이후 전문 장비를 이용해 제 피부 톤을 측정했고, 웜톤과 쿨톤의 기준을 세밀하게 나누는 과정이 이어졌어요. 이후에는 다양한 컬러 팔레트를 사용해 웜톤, 쿨톤, 채도 등 세부 요소를 기반으로 진단이 진행되었습니다.
사실 큰 기대를 하진 않았지만, 진단 과정에서 얼굴이 팔레트 색상에 따라 극적으로 변하는 것을 보고 정말 놀랐어요! 어떤 색은 제 얼굴을 칙칙하고 어두워 보이게 했지만, 또 다른 색은 얼굴을 환하고 생기 있게 만들어줬습니다. 채도와 밝기에 따라 얼굴이 창백해졌다가 또렷해지는 변화를 경험하니 정말 신기했어요.
